We are seeking a highly skilled COBOL Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing and maintaining applications on the iSeries (AS/400) platform, utilizing a variety of programming languages and tools. You will work closely with our team to design and implement solutions, ensuring the integrity and efficiency of the software development process.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain applications on the iSeries (AS/400) platform using COBOL85/COBOL400, RPG, and JCL.
Collaborate with stakeholders to execute proof-of-concepts (PoCs) and provide solution designs and estimates for projects involving the System i (AS/400) environment.
Utilize knowledge of DB2 (iSeries) and flat file structures to manage data integration and optimization tasks.
Contribute to the development of innovative solutions utilizing SYNON and other AS/400 tools to support business objectives.
Support and troubleshoot existing applications to ensure optimal performance and user satisfaction.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Strong expertise in COBOL85/COBOL400 development on the iSeries (AS/400) platform.
Proficiency in JCL, RPG, and familiarity with the DB2 (iSeries) database.
Solid understanding of flat file structures and their integration with System i.
Experience in designing and developing solutions in the System i (AS/400) environment.
Ability to perform code reviews and offer design improvements.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Nice to Have:
C programming skills would be an added advantage.
